Hello I am a chewed basket. This is a weird one, but we have come to the conclusion that a little mouse was nibbling at the strapping in Myanmar. This shouldn't affect longevity and the strapping still feels strong, but just a bit of a mysterious imperfection.

Large KuuKuu baskets are great for larger grocery shops, fresh produce, picnics, BBQs, and beach days. Also perfect for a laptop and paperwork. They can hold up to 12kg.

Each Pāli basket is individually handwoven in a remote village in Myanmar, from new pallet strapping made from recycled plastics. Plastics are collected by locals from streets and beaches, recycled into pellets, then made into rolls of new strapping.

Our KuuKuu style uses bamboo in the base, purchased from local farmers.

The traditional Burmese weaving techniques have been passed down through generations. Every basket sold enables our ongoing support of the artisans, village families and local Burmese communities.
