These beautiful throws are individually hand-loomed and hand-embroidered from Chin state in Myanmar.
Hand-spun with natural cotton fibres and dyed with indigo and other vegetable dyes. Each throw takes four weeks to loom and dye, and a further four weeks to embroider.
Throws featuring people, animals, landscapes and homes tell a story of the village where they are made.
Each throw is unique. Imperfections (see photos) in the fabric, such as dye marks or pulls or gathered fibres add character.
Perfect works of art as wallhangings, or to be used as a throw on a couch or bed.
The weaving of these beautiful throws provides income for around 200 female artisans.
