Hello, I am holey basket. This is a weird one... we are not sure how my hole happened. Potentially I have been burnt or my tape has somehow frayed. It almost looks like a bite has been taken out of my side! I arrived in Melbourne from Myanmar like this. I am still beautiful and functional. I should not unravel as I am tightly woven, maybe a few blobs of fabric glue could help seal off my frayed ends. Please look at my photos carefully to see my hole. I hope you can appreciate my wonkiness as unique :)

Large KuuKuu baskets are perfect for grocery shops, fresh fruit and veg, picnics, BBQs and beach days. Perfect size for a laptop, paperwork, art projects, supplies and storage around the house. KuuKuu baskets are made with very sturdy handles, that soften over time. They are super strong and designed to last, holding up to 12kg in the large size.

The Burmese traditional weaving methods have been passed down for generations.

Each Pāli basket is individually handwoven from a combination of new, reused and recycled pallet strapping. The base and handles are made from bamboo and rattan purchased from local farmers. Recycled materials are not always available but we are continually working on new ways to make this more achievable.

Baskets are fully recyclable at the end of their very long lives. Contact us for information on how to recycle correctly.
